Tammy Woodard, OGNP

Tammy Woodard previously worked in OB, newborn nursery, and labor & delivery at Johnston Medical Center for nine years. After attending Emory University in Georgia, she has been providing quality care to patients in our office since 1998. She is married with three children.  Tammy enjoys spending time with her two grandsons and is looking forward to the arrival of her granddaughter in December.

 Midwifery Services

We are proud to have two Certified Nurse Midwives at TPWH.  Ms. Farrah Forney and Ms. Holly Drake work in collaboration with our ACOG Board Certified physicians to provide the highest quality care for prenatal, delivery, postnatal and GYN care.  By working together, this team of providers enhances the experience that each lady deserves for her healthcare needs.  Our Midwives are dedicated to providing our patients with the personalized healthcare experience that you deserve.

There are many myths and misconceptions about Midwives and the services that they provide.  In the US Midwives are healthcare providers that offer services to women of all ages and stages of her life.  Midwives receive advanced education and partner with women to focus on each ones unique situation and values.


 Farrah Forney, CNM

Farrah Forney PhotoFarrah Forney is a Certified Nurse-Midwife who specializes in pregnancy, childbirth, contraception, and routine gynecologic care. She has been providing holistic, compassionate care for the women of Johnston county since 2016 when she joined Triangle Premier Women’s Health. Farrah received her bachelor’s degree in Biology from East Carolina University and later completed an accelerated nursing program. She worked as a registered nurse for Vidant Health for four years, obtaining valuable experience in general medicine, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursery. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Midwifery from East Carolina University while working as an RN. Farrah is Lamaze certified and an active member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives. When she is not taking care of patients, Farrah enjoys music, reading, and spending time with her two-year-old daughter, Yasmin.


Holly Drake, MSN, RNC-OB, CNM, IBCLC, Certified HypnoBirhting Childbirth Educator

 Holly Drake, CNM  Holly joined Triangle Premier Women’s Health in July of 2018. She had previously practiced in Jacksonville, NC for 3 years, and in Flint, Mi for 15 months before relocating to North Carolina.  Before becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife Holly worked in Labor and Delivery at 2 of the largest hospitals in Detroit for 6 years. Holly also has taught at a number of Community Colleges and Universities.  She completed her Associates Degree in Nursing at St. Clair County Community College, her Bachelors in Nursing at Chamberlain College of Nursing, and her Masters of Science in Nursing at Frontier Nursing University. Holly is also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and enjoys assisting families in meeting their infant feeding goals through education and support. Holly teaches childbirth education and enjoys helping  to support  families to meet their birthing goals.  Holly has 5 children, and 1 granddaughter, and resides in Smithfield.  When not catching babies or teaching classes she enjoys the beach, going on adventures, and reading.
